History Of The Firm

Lamb Bain Laubscher (LBL) was established on 1 July 2002, following a merger of Max Lamb Lawyer, and Wallace Bain Law Office.

Prior to the merger, Max Lamb had practised in Te Kuiti and Hamilton for a period exceeding 30 years. Wally Bain had practised in Hamilton, and then Te Kuiti for many years, returning to the practice of law, after a short break in 1989. Wally Bain was joined in partnership by Sam Laubscher in March 1996.

LBL was established with two partners, Wally Bain and Sam Laubscher, and Max Lamb as a consultant. After the merger, the firm decided to specialise services, and concentrates mainly in the areas of trust law, estate planning, rural law – including wind farming, commercial law and conveyancing.

In 2007 Wally was appointed a Coroner under the new Coroners Act. He retired from the firm, and is now based in Rotorua. Sam is now the sole Principal, assisted by a team of Solicitors and Support Staff.
